Just moved here from Europe
« on: April 30, 2010, 11:59:49 AM »
Hello everyone,

my name is Leo(nardo) I'm from northern Italy and I have relocated to the US because of a pretty California girl that now is my wife! We lived in Alaska for 8 months (don't ask...) and we recently drove all the way to Washington DC (visiting California in the process, a month long road-trip!) where we have finally settled.

It's time to get me a bike, I've never been without one in the last 15 years and I'm going to explode soon if I have to sit in my car 1 hour to drive 3,5 miles again...

A little background on my passion: I have always been fascinated by mechanical engineering, as a kid I would normally dissemble most of my toys to understand what made them work. I got my first moped when I was 14 it was a ****pile but it worked (kind of). I worked in a bike shop every summer as a teenager and I spent there every hour of my free time growing up so I know how to take care of my bikes. That has come in handy as after an Aprilia RS 125 I bought a used Duke 888 SP3 whose engine I rebuilt twice after totaling 90.000 km on it. Then came a much more reliable but less "involving" Aprilia RSVR 1000 Factory along with a Honda Africa Twin. I worked as a racing instructor and motorcycle journalist for a couple of years before moving into the car racing industry where I spent the last 5 years taking care of PR, Marketing and Sales for a racing team spending some time on track as well.

As of right now my choices as for bikes to buy are extremely limited as for budget BUT I might have found something interesting in the form of a 1976 CB750f... I'm here to look for insight before I go see it :-)

That's all for now, sorry about the long rant  :D

Welcome.

An hour to drive 3.5 miles? Ugh. I feel sorry for you in that regard.  :'(
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

The only 750 better than a 1976 CB750F1 is a 1975 CB750F0  ;)

Welcome to our insanity and let us know if we can help. I do have good knowledge about the 75/76 750F's.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
