KO Metamorphosis
« on: May 03, 2010, 07:57:12 PM »
“ I’d like to change my 1970 CB 750 to a chopper style bike, with extended front forks, custom rear fender .
There will be lots of moulding & custom chain link passenger foot pegs. I ‘ll put a custom King /Queen seat for a better comfortable ride.”

I was put on Earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Now I'm so far behind, I'll never die!

O.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

;D ;D ;D Sorry Don R, I too will be looking for parts.

The truth be that the quote was perhaps what the previous owner was thinking back in the 70's. Where choppers were the in thing. I wonder how it looked back then?
I got the frame with extended front end, swingarm, cut off fender hoop and think I got a back wheel, back in 1989 for free .
The guy that gave me the roller & a few boxes of other 750 parts was still using the 750 engine to drive an air compressor for his business.
I did all the required work to get the frame in my name, but only after it is inspected as a complete bike will the registration will be assigned to me.

So I removed the 1/4 inch plates, removed extra bracket on swingarm, removed tons of bondo around the welds and different spots on the frame to see what else is wrong.

Thing that are not correct on the frame are:
No seat mounting tabs.
No plastic fender tabs.
Cut off fender hoop ( I do not have the original ).
Cracked weld on back bone.
Tank mounts are not correct.
bent footpeg stopper.
A few extra holes  in the frame.
The rear peg bushing are not square.

Nothing a welder, some scrap metal and some elbow grease won't take care of.   ;D
