We hope they catch the guy that parked the car there.  Everybody wants to know his trick for finding a parking space in times square...

Seriously, everybody's just taking it in stride realizing how lucky everyone was.  It seems it was a one off, probably someone who's laid off and pissed at someone.

It's amazing how much little violence there is in NYC compared to other places I've been.  America and abroad.  More yelling and screaming here but no real violence.  The police are pretty on top of things in NYC big picture wise.  Sure wallets are stolen, people are scammed and driving in the city is basically without rules but for big things like public safety in a tourist spot, they do a great job.  Seems like they were on top of things right away.  Thanks also to the two street vendors who noticed the smoke coming from the vehicle.

Was there also an bomb incident in Pittsburgh today?  I thought I heard a blurb on the radio.   Gotta go google it...

Going by how many dumb mistakes the guy made, I doubt it will be long before they have him in custody.  He had bags of regular, non-explosive fertilizer in the car, he left fingerprints, he was recorded on video changing shirts in the alley.  I wouldn't be surprised if the car is registered to him at his current address.

The news reports I saw describing the bomb said it most likely would not have gone off even if the trigger had worked.  Sounds like an amateur wannabe.

If he had the internet he wouldnt of failed! Problem is he didnt have the stones!! Or the desire to kill. He just wants attn! I think he should get it!
A public execution broadcast only live overseas! Sure we will get it later to watch but hey its a start. Treason! Im not talking lethal injection!  Get creative.
Oh and he will get that attention then!

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

it did seem almost Benny Hill like in the execution of the bombing. not trying to make light of a serious situation but i've seen 3 stooges shorts that had better outcomes.

Unfortunately he has a non-retarded friend who will try and succeed.

We will blame ourselves and not the people we are at war with, religious fanatics.

Well we are very lucky here that most of these guys have been asshats after 9/11. The guy was born in Pakistan and a naturalized American Citizen. He was arrested at the airport trying to board a plane for Dubai.

He bought the Pathfinder for $1500 cash over the web. They found the guy who sold him the car and the FBI was able to trace him through the emails sent back and forth. He seems to have spent a long period of time in Pakistan recently before he pulled this stunt.

New York City will continue to be a target for these Clowns as it symbolizes everything this azzholes dislike about the US. It is highly publicized and that in itself makes it a tempting target. We all know someone will try something here again, but we have a culture here that keeps us moving through this Sh1t. We go about our daily lives since we have other stuff to think about.

NYC is not a violent City as Mccozzo said, you can walk around all you want and be a safe as anywhere. Really, you can.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

And he was on the "no fly" list and should never have been allowed to board the plane.  So that shows just how well that's working out. ::)
