Thanks for the compliments guys.

Made it to Richfield Utah today, from North Platte Nebraska (11+ hours).  Tomorrow it's into Pomona.  Wed is final check over, and give the truck and trailer a good wash. ;) :)

Comments:  Lots of corn fields & Black Angus in NE, and you can smell the stock yards from the Interstate. ::)   The Rockies were a white knuckle (very wet roads), so not much sightseeing.  At 10,000ft the truck was starting to struggle with the thin air.  A couple of the passes were spectacular though.  Did pass a bunch of mountain goats by the road side.   Utah has great scenery, but nothing else.  The only exits for 100's of Km were for ranches.  Just hope the roads/weather are as good for the return trip.

Camera is ready, and will take lots of photos.  ffjmoore is going to meet up with me on Sunday, should be fun.

Hey T-top you'll have to compile a trip thread on you return.

I once stayed at a swank joint in Nephi, just up the hwy. a tad from Richfield. $8.00 for the night and the door was wide enough to ride the 750 right in the room for a little maintenace while it poured rain.

Keep your eye out for it on the way back!  ;)

Finally here in Pomona.  Yesterday's marathon was worth the effort as it made today's trip much easier.

The truck and trailer came through the ordeal mostly unscathed, although the truck did pick up some road rash from the so called sand they use in CO.  Think they just use undersized rocks that fall down. ;) :)

The brown stuff on the front is about an 1/8" thick!  Had to open the hood and wash down the rad. ::)  Everything looks nice and clean now. ;D

Plan to finish my prep tomorrow, and get a little sun, so I don't look quite so much like an albino, here in sunny CA. ;) :)  Will take my camera for move in on Thursday.  Be fun to rub shoulders with Chip Foose, and the other big name builders.

This is f'n awesome, my man.

You should have tagged along as the 2nd driver.  The scenery has been awsome.  Took 4 days to get down here, but think I'll take an extra 1/2 day going back so I can stop and take some photos.  There was one canyon in the rockies were the sides seemed only slightly wider than the road, and you couldn't see the top.  All this while decending down a 6% grade, with curves!  Love coasters, but that was a ride. ;) :)

Thanks Kemp, its a show I always wanted to go to as a spectator.  Never thought I would do it with something of my own though.

Went over today to get a feel of were everything was, and decided to check out the NHRA Museum.  Wow, there are some incredible cars there.  Two of Gibbon's (ZZ Top) cars were spectacular.  There was a twin engine 750 based dragster that was bored out to what must be paper thin liners.  Will get some pictures tomorrow, after move in.

All the cars for the 'America's Most Beautiful Roadster' award were lined up for photos.  The build quality was stunning.  Also got talking with the owner of a 51 Mercury.  Turns out it is a Barris original done in 52, and still running its Caddy engine!  Going to have to pick up and extra big SD card for the camera. ;) :)

Well its at the GNRS and setup is also done.  I'm the only Honda in a sea of Harleys.  Many thanks to HeadNut for the great work on the Show Board.  To be judged it has to start, and it did on the 1st push of the button. ;D  Made more than a few heads turn. ;) :)

Frankenstuff's back plate waiting to be installed.

Also met Chris of Yoshi pipe fame.  He has his Wes Cooley replica there.  Boy has it got some trick stuff in it.  He was very interested in my 4/4 Swarbricks, and SBK swingarm.  As an aside, Carpy's supercharged engine was built by Chris.  Forgot to ask if its a runner yet.

Show opens at noon today, so just have to give it a quick once over, then start filling my SD card. ;) :)  Looking for colour scheme ideas for the 750.

Back from the 1st day.  Getting lots of positive comments about the bike.  Really glad I decided to make the trip.  Also getting to meet lots of the top rod builders here in CA.  This trully is the meca of hot rodding.  There had to be a couple of dozen in the parking lot!  Rat rods rule as far as daily drivers go. ;D

Sorry Syscrush, had to post the pic.  As Mick pointed out that bike has a mountain of trick Moto GP parts.  The motor is a rare Yoshi 750, all the fastners are Ti, the list just goes on & on.  Chris was saying it just came back from Japan, were Suzuki had it at a show.

I’m jealous!
I want to be there too.
Bike looks great.
Good luck
FJ

Thanks FJ.  This is a show that should be on any gearheads 'bucket list'.  The entries for 'America's Most Beautiful Roadster' are really outstanding.  The build quality has to be seen in person, to be appreciated.  As for the bikes, its only a very small part of the show, but a number of the BOTM's could do well here.

Thanks P_Camps.  There is a Mustang here from Canada, but I haven't been able to find it yet.  Probably some others, but I would have to read every show card in the place to figure out who's who. ;)

Just because I know you all like pic's.  Today at GNRS was 'drivers' day.  All the space in and around the buildings was packed with street rods.  The best parts was there were lots of girls/women dressed in 50's style.

This guy's wife made him stand in there. ;) :)

Not the best pic of her but then there had to be 20 guys trying to take a photo. ::) ;D
