Using A Motion Pro Carb Tuner
« on: May 05, 2010, 09:42:38 am »
Hey guys I have a mercury filled old school motion pro carb tuner and had a question about synching my carbs up. After I hook up the carbs when should I adjust the air/fuel mixture screw as opposed to changing the slide height screw and nut? Is the air/fuel mixture screw like a fine tuner or should they all just be 1 1/2 turns out?

Thanks for the help!
-Michael

Should be just the 1.5 turns out if everything is stock.

Camp, I have wondered this many times but the best I can come up with would be a good bench sync followed by a the final sync, then tune the idle mix with an electronic tach. I don't trust the "ear" method as it is inaccurate at best.

Then all bets are off, you get to fiddle with jets, needle positions and air screws, aren't you the lucky ducky??

You fiddle with the air screws with an accurate tachometer after you dial in the jetting/needle setting, bench and manometer synch.
