That pic is sickening, I've seen it before as well, and I remember seeing a similar pic many years ago of a Kawasaki GPZ1000 sitting in the drivers seat of a car, it was taken here on the "Yarra Boulevard" in Melbourne and the female driver was killed instantly while the rider survived. It seemed that the driver didn't "give way" to the rider at a "T" intersection when she was attempting to make a turn. At the time I thought it was almost ironic justice.
Coincidentally, I met the rider years later, and he told me that while technically she was "in the wrong" for failing to give way, morally, he was totally at fault because he was riding at approx twice the posted speed limit. (the Yarra Boulevard is very popular with boy racers on weekends as it's 5 or 6 miles of knee scraping corners) He told me that he was so badly injured he wasn't expected to walk again, after breaking both arms, his back, and pretty much every major bone from his shoulders down, and he showed me some of the scarring, which was horrific.
He'd just started riding again when I spoke to him, he'd bought another Kawasaki GPZ1000 like the one he'd crashed but apparently this had brought back the nightmares and the guilt that he'd endured since the crash, the woman who'd died was the mother of two small children and he felt responsible for taking away their mother, and he was having a rough time of it. He told me that there were many times when he'd wished he'd died in the crash and she'd survived, it was very sad, the crash took one one life, but ruined many............
