Thanks to b82ta's inspiration I went ahead with a laser etched acrylic plan for my gauge faces. Pics attached.

Rockin!  What did you end up using for the black part of the face?

I used about five coats of VH Nightshades taillight smoke. Just a hint of back light gets through.

very nice! they look killer man, nice work!  did you just leave the backing on the acrylic prior to lasercut? and then peel off what you wanted to paint?

Not sure that I get your question. I painted the smoke on the acryl first. Then etched; mirror through the paint, then painted the redline hashes with fluoro red acrylic paint.

that was actually what i was looking for, didnt know if you used the laser to create a mask, or to etch through the paint.  They look real awesome!

Couldnta done it without your inspiration. I was going to go for decals till I saw your topic. I am lucky enough to have a trophy shop in this one horse town with a laser. I wish I had one at home.. you know to cut bread straight with!
