disregard that last comment.  in my rush to get to the Y to pick up my son I crossed wires.  assuming nothing got totally fried and it's just wire and insulation I'm good.  I hope.
in case I forgot, it's a 78' CB750F

rewired the man harness to eleminate all melted and damaged wire. re wrapped and ran the main harness.  hardwired the new old rectifier from the boneyard...DONE!  charging system now works like a champ.  I'm beat and don't feel like riding now.  :(
