Oregon Vintage Motorcyclist's Spring Show Photos
« on: May 23, 2006, 12:23:18 PM »
I went to the OVM spring meet on Sunday and took some pictures.  Not a ton of SOHC4s at the show (CB550 and CB750), but still some cool stuff:

- BSA 441 Victor (I think)

- Honda Benly something-or-other

- Matchless?

- 70's (?) Ducati 750

Sorry about the thumbs, I didn't feel like resizing the huge originals for here -- to see them in full size and about 50 more various cool old bikes from yesterday's Oregon Vintage Motorcyclist's annual meet, you can go to the photo library at my site:

Hey ross, nice shots. I think you're right about the BSA being a 441 Victor. Not sure about eh model of that Benly (think it's a 125 though. they had a 125 Super Sports and I saw it in the link you posted)
the 3rd one is definitely a Matchless but, I'm not sure if it's a 500cc single or the larger 600cc Typhoon single. I only know what you do about the Ducati. Good pictures though, thanks for sharing.   Bill

Thanks for the kind words folks.  It was a fun event to go to, even though I didn't bring my bike.  I had seen the sign on the Fairgrounds event board, and thought it wasn't that big of a deal.  Since the fairgrounds is just about a mile from my house, I figured I'd stop by.  Once there I find that it's the OVM annual meet and there's a zillion cool bikes.  I can't believe I've been missing the event all the past years.  The club looks like fun too, they do group rides at various fun locales around Oregon (of course I missed the previous-day's local vintage ride because I wasn't paying attention).

bill440cars: Thanks for the added IDs -- I was fairly sure on the BSA Victor, since my dad had one, but the others were just guesses.  I basically just took pictures of what I liked until the card in my camera filled up, but mostly took stuff of the Honda/Japanese stuff since that's what I love.  I could've easily taken a bunch more shots, almost every bike was cool in its own way.

If anybody wants to use the photos for anything, feel free, just give me a photo credit if anybody wants to publish them somewhere (doubtful, but you never know).

If anybody's in Oregon the weekend before Memorial day, that's when the event is held every year.  Vintage ride on Saturday, show-n-swap on Sunday.

Sean, with reference to the Honda Benly Something-or-other, it's a Honda Benly Super Sport (CB92), made from 1959 to 1965.

I knew Sam could help on that one, I thought it was a Benly Super Sport but wasn't sure of the model & years. Sam's one one of those that's hard to beat.

Thanks for the Benly ID Sam.

I'll have to actually put notes on that main photo page so that I can keep them straight when I forget later!
