There was a 4 speed rotary trans.... but mine was a 5 speed ;1 down, 4-up deal...!

The Bridgestone 200 (I think) Twin I had the pleasure of working on has a lever to select between a normal shift pattern and the continuous pattern. I thought it was pretty neat!

Right after I created the thread, I though, "Damnit - I'm gonna get 40 pictures of Schwinns..."

I don't have pictures of my 1st bike handy, it was a Jawa 50cc that had been reworked by my Dad.

My 2nd bike though, was like this one except it was black w/o the gold pin striping. I assembled it (a '58 Jawa 125) literally from parts) Dad said that that was the way he had gotten HIS first one.

and here is my 3rd one, finally a Honda! ('66 CB72 250 Hawk)

I love these 'first-bike' threads!

My first was a used 1960's Benelli 'Buzzer' 50cc. Bought it from older brother in about 1971 or 72 (I was 6 or 7). Basket case and paid $50. Bought a new 1975 Honda MR50 from the showroom for ~$375. Took a few years to pay off Mom & Dad the balance of ~$175.

My first real non-minibike was a 1976 CB360T bought from OTHER older brother (who had bought it new) in 1982 when I was a jr. in high school.

Guess not, since it is about bikes.   But, besides that, they didn't have THOSE kind of trikes, when I was little. ::)

My Daughter got one from Santa, when SHE was little, but DADDY had to put that thing together and it was a "Dukes Of Hazard" model with loads of stickers that had to go on it. :o

1974 Yamaha RD60.  Not this one, but one just like it.
It topped out at about ~50 mph if I remember but it had torque for days. I spent more time off road than on with it.
I paid $100 for it in 1977.

1980 CM 400T.  It was good to me but I out grew it in about a month.  I kept this bike for a while anyway.
