why this?

why did po do this?? 2 washers under one bolt and 3 under the other.

any ideas?

they clearly arent the stock bolts so.... to long?

thats what i was thinking, was he to dumb to cut them down if thats all he had to work with? will figure it out when i disassemble.

He was too lazy to get the right size bolt...

not lazy....used what he had in the garage.....it worked and the cover fit.

YEah the 2 on the left are the correct ones, they have a flanged head (built in washer)they must be no longer than them. What he did while not very elegant was functional and no real risk to the plate if he drew them down properly, which he did either knowingly or accidentally.

I think they are "8" hardened bolts. THe one with 2 washers is an 8 looks like. THe phillips is a stretch.
