Anybody tried to fit gsxr 750 85 mod. rear swingarm to the 750?

I have a 1988 GSXR 1100 swingarm cut down on one of my project Honda's..

That's cool:) How did it fit? I think about the bearings and the fit to the frame? Any problems?
Build tread? :) :)

Still collecting parts for my builds, so no build thread yet. The swingarm was a direct fit into the frame, it was the correct width. It looks like you are cutting yours down similar to mine, you will have to, remove the monoshock mount and rebrace it but it is not a hard thing to do.  Have a look at the last couple of "Bike of the month" threads, there is a very nice 500 with GSXR 750 swingarm..

I only have a couple of old pictures of the whole bike, it is an expensive project and is taking me a long time to get all the parts, because i have no room , its all in boxes until i can get all the parts i need to finish it....Here's a couple of old pics of the front and swingarm.

The last picture has the stock swingarm, i was surprised to see that a 4.5 inch rim with a 170 tyre fit on, not much room but it did fit..

The only problem i have found with the suzuki front end is that the offset is shorter thasn the Honda clamps, this means that the forks either hit the tank or you end up with a larger turn radius.....I am looking at getting 43mm clamps made up eventually to the correct Honda offset....60mm i believe.

Can i go for a smaller tank. like the CB 500 i got on my project or is the offset way off?

To be honest, its not way off and i have just altered the steering stops so mine doesn't hit the tank,it has lessened the turning circle which doesn't really bother me but i also like to be manoeuvrable at slow speed, so i suppose it is just up too personal preference. A smaller or slimmer tank would also fix the problem....If you consider it to be a problem...The GSXR offset is around 32-35mm, the Honda K is 60mm and i think the F is 50mm..

Want to have the oil reservoir incorporated into the swingarm :o :o ;D
It will hold 2 litres of oil, so will add more by adding an extra oilfilter hidden under the engine plus an oilcooler up front:)

Will use an oil cooler and a breath reservoir about the same height as the original oil tank level..Think it might work??:) Please send pictures of generator:) Interested in getting some more juice to run the fuel injection:):)

Started with messing with the wiring tonight, took more than one beer to find the curage to get started  ;D ;D Have no clue what i am doing:)
Pretty much #$%*ed here i think:)

Will probably need some help here... But think Honda could have saved millions on wires... :)It has to be possible to make the harness simpler??
