Done welding the rear. Not decided on the design on the taillight yet. But this is how it looks so far

Anyone tried welding the brake bracket to the fork?  

Wow, I have to say, this is one of my favorites.  Do you have or have you had it running on the EFI yet??  As far as the aluminum welding goes, this is a big deal when talking about brakes.  It really depends on the type of aluminum.  Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.  I 'm going off of memory, but I believe If its 50 or 60 series it is weldable.  However if it's 20 or 70 series it is not.  Most aluminum's I have worked with will take a weld and it will look vary nice.  Though, if the aluminum is not weldable it will usually stress crack right away along side of the weld.  That said, this doesn't always happen right away, it could hold for a long time and let loose at an inopportune time.  I propose for your safety and for the safety of everyone else you devise some sort of bracket instead of depending on an unknown or do some heavy research and find out the the makeup of the aluminum and know before you strike an ark weather or not it is weldable.  Just a suggestion  That and about $75.00 at StarBucks will get you a cup of coffee.

Have not yet had it running, have to sort out the brakes first. As i understand from several other build treads about EFI conversions, the biggest problem is the manifolds the rest should be ok.. I hope ? My Friend who is a professional welder, says it should be no problem regarding welding the brake bracket. Will try it out, I guess he know what he is talking about. But I will take your advice and secure it with a bracket on the back using the fender brackets. The rest is machined off.. I am pretty sure that the brakes will be safer than stock

Some more grinding and polish and it will look alright:)

Tack welded first with all the parts in place to get it in the right , then took it apart and welded all Cleaned all oil and dirt out of the tube first.  But go to a professional welder to do this

Anyone know what to use to put this together ? PO cut away the chrome ring to get inside, can i get a new one or make something to hold it together?

nice to see a ground up build with your own parts without buying all the parts and assembling it like a kit bike....do you think the suzuki shift lever will work? i just flipped the stock shift lever over and used it that way as i did not have one that would work( i bought a box of different used japanese rearsets off ebay)...joe@vcycle

The shifter won't work the way they came, had to mill and weld a bracket for the shifter to the footpeg mounts. Still have to modify some to make it work:) Will post pictures when I have figured it out:)
The footpegs and shifter are from Honda cbr 1000 04-07 i believe:) Not Suzuki.

The fork did not deform at all When i look inside the tube it has the same mirror like surface as before, can not see any deformation .. guess it depends on the welder, but mine seems alright Can try to take pictures for you.. ?

But there will always be an risk of destroying your fork . But done right i think it will be fine.

Do anybody make, or know any who make and sell custom wiering harness  for the 750? Want as little/simple  as possible, no signal lights, warning lights, instruments, or hand controls.. Just the basic ?

Im doing the wore harness on mine but im updating all the 30+ y/o electrical parts. I got 1 of the regulator/rectifier and im going to run a marine circuit breaker instead of a fuse panel.

Cheers!  For the frame kits...I'm building a list of people who want them before getting the next batch made. Need a few more names and I'll get them going.  (take 1-2 weeks to get a run machined, assembled and sent out)...I wish I could keep stock...but am not in the best place to do that right now.

As for rigidity... I believe they are over engineered for what is required of them, and have no worries about running the bike with a Gordon kit installed, as they are quite beefy.   Although many people will argue that any cutting of the frame will skew it's original rigidity...you can read thru the discussions and forum members comments.   I haven't heard one complaint from somebody who has installed the kit yet....and I don't think Gordon has either...since he started making these years back.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll put your name on the list...hopefully get some going soon.
