Wow! SOHC House Rockers
« on: May 09, 2010, 06:11:46 AM »
I was browsing around trying to get ideas for a SOHC build when I found this on GooBike (Japan)

http://www.goobike.com/bike/stock_8502134B20100306001/

And another similar bike also built by House Rockers in Saitama (north Tokyo area)

I'm simply stunned at the beauty of this.  Yea, it's absurdly priced at over $40,000, but man, it's totally legal, totally ridable, and totally cool.  It's not like I'll be spending 40k on a bike, but what a cool model this is for a project. I could do something along the lines of it for around $4000.

It's bored to 836, has a forged race cam and crank, large valves, Yoshimura carburetors, and has an aluminum gas tank, side cover, and oil tank.  Those stainless pipes are a work of art and cost over $2500.  Also: Lockheed calipers, Honda NSR 250 Magnesium Alloy front and rear wheels, carbon fiber fenders, etc.  The frame is stock although reinforced with additional braces and welds.

There was a young kid on the list back in the days before this forum, who was doing that to his 750 with CBR600F3 parts. Wonder what became of that project?...

I like it, but it needs more black.
