750 petcock question
« on: May 09, 2010, 10:17:10 AM »
After searching thru all the prior postings, I still can't find a definitive answer to this:
My 1972 CB750 petcock has two fuel outlet tubes. When I turn the petcock on, fuel only comes out of the outlet nearest the carbs (i.e., the one nearest the rear of the bike). Doesn't matter whether the valve is turned to On or Reserve.
I took the petcock apart to check the screen filter yesterday. Could I have put it back together wrong? It does not leak. I had the tank cap open when I did this test. Help, please and thanks.

Hey Mike. Did you put your finger over the flowing hole yet and then see if the other one flows.Have read where one has a tendency to flow first then the other catches up.
