Can anyone tell me which model these engines are from?
« on: May 10, 2010, 12:29:04 PM »
Hi

I have 2 engines with the following enginenumbers:

1: CB500E-2128404

2: CB500E-2181119

Engine no. 1 is from a CB500, but i don't know what year and "K" model.

Engine no. 2 is from a CB500 K3 (1977) but I'm not sure if it is the original engine? Is there a way to check that?

Thanks

Nicolai

Wow, U.S. dates for the CB500 are first sold in 1971 (KO); 1972 (K1) and 1973 (K2).... done!
The motors you list would be both K2 (1973)... Started at # CB750E- 2100001.....
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,

500K3 should start CB500E-22*****

What style clutch operating mechanism is fitted to the engines?
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
