In need of a centerstand
« on: May 09, 2010, 04:59:03 PM »
 Hello all,

My bike is a bit of a hodge-podge. 1981 (or so I think) nighthawk wheels and front end, and a 1973 CB500 frame (with a '78 CB550 engine, but that's off of the point).

I did a lot of googling for a centerstand, but could not find anything. I'm wondering what other centerstand models will fit the 1973 CB500 frame (With the different wheels, if they make a difference at all). Also I have a 4-1 Kerker exhaust system, which I doubt will make a difference, but it doesn't hurt to toss that in there.

A new sidestand wouldn't hurt either, the current one was homemade by the PO...it's a long piece of metal with a socket welded to the end. It works great (better than a normal stand imo) but it looks tacky as hell, and sometimes doesn't want to stay up.

You can use motogrid to do a parts look up like that.  I looked up a K2 (don't know if that's your bike or not for sure) and here's what came up:

i have a center stand that I believe is for a 76 CB550.  If it fits (need to know what measurements you need) i'll take $30 plus shipping.  i can take a pic of it next to my 76 so you can get an idea.  Let me know

Actually, I might have one from that exact frame, so if Wtrdog's doesn't work, I could dig mine out.
