It has 137K miles and there were some things that were needing attention, which was making me nervous about what might be next. So, I have made a deal on a 2007 Charger R/T with the 5.7 Hemi engine. Not exactly the color I was wanting, but I've already got some ideas to "Personalize it". ;D Thing is, This car has "GUTS" AND, if driven repectably, can still get the SAME mpg as the Grand Caravan with the 3.8 V6 in there. Here some shots from the dealer ad.

Not bad.  Hard to haul as much junk as with the Caravan, but sometimes you just have to make concessions!  ;)

I hear ya. Thing is, I still have the use of my Dad's '93 Dakota AND I am strongly considering a trailer hitch on the R/T. I've been running a van of some sort, since '93 (4 Chrysler Products Minis and a '99 Conversion van) and I'm kinda getting back to having a car. WOULD have tried to get a Challenger, but I HAVE to be able to, at times, get my Dad (84yrs old) and my Daughter into the car as well. So, even though I'd rather that the Charger was a 2dr, this will work out pretty good. Besides, I ALSO will have the use of my Dad's '05 Grand Caravan, as I might need it. I'm gonna try to get him to let me sell at least ONE of his vehicles too, since I am his MAIN mode of transportation.

I have to say that, when I first saw the Charger as a 4dr, I was disappointed, to say the least. I remember the Chargers of OLD (and having had 2 '66 Chargers back in the day), It WAS a letdown to see them as 4dr cars. BUT then, I started hearing things about the features, handling  and performance. Up until last week, I had not even looked very closely at them, much less driven one. Then I looked and THEN, I drove one! I was pretty impressed with how they handled AND performed. I can only imagine how the SRT8 does, as IT is the TOP of the line in all categories! I was impressed that the 5.7 Hemi will not only get up and GO, when punched, it will ALSO give the same basic MPG, when cruising down the hwy. So, with that being said, I'll be going to pick mine up after while. ;)

Wow.  with fancy footwork like that, you could be on Dancing With The Stars.  So you just got that set-up >just in case<  like if 40 bears chase aliens with ray guns into your garage and you need to get out of there fast. ?  Is that what you're telling us Bubby?  Why, I think it shows a lack of patriotism and disrepect for the Flag NOT to have one of these cars.  By GOD, Bill- YOU'RE A FREAKING AMERICAN HERO!  GOD BLESS AMERICA AND WHILE YOU'RE AT IT LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!!!

Good for you Bill.  Those cars are a blast to drive!  Our Sherriffs office has one and I love it when it comes in for service. ;)  They even have a Mercury Marauder as well, but it doesn't compare to the Dodge.  If I could buy a new car today it would either be a Charger or Challenger.

Have Fun!!

Well, you ARE right about ONE thing, I ain't no Soccer Mom. BUT, I have made a lot of good use with the minivans I have had over the years. For example I have hauled numerous bikes in the back of them. I've had 4 minivans and 1 Conversion Van. The Chrysler Product minivans will haul about anything you want to and drive and handle like a car while doing it. ;)

Very cool car Bill. Definitely better than a minivan in many ways. If you've got your Dad's truck to haul stuff, then I'd say go for it.  ;D ;D

Done DID it Mickey, AND will be taking my Dad to Little Rock Thursday, IN STYLE, to get back on track to get his stuff back from the S & S Team. I backed off of that back in July of last year and has really taken ME awhile to get back in there. Lost alt of my will to FIGHT when I lost Brenda. BUT, we are heading down to Little Rock Thursday, to get things back on track. SO< the S & S Team best be getting ready to give it ALL up and move on!

Man, I am LIKING this car! 8) ;)

Not exactly the color I was wanting, but I've already got some ideas to "Personalize it". ;D

Congrats on your new ride Bill.
The color is perfect and low key and the local law enforcement will not even see you as you pass them up at 80 MPH.   I have a 1978 Trans Am in silver that some years back I flew by a State Trooper on the NYS through way at a little over 90 MPH and I thought for sure I got busted but he never even pulled out.
I bet if it was like that red one in the background  he would have pulled out.

Working on that, Chris. I hope to have pictures up soon, of all 3 cars. But, I'm going to clean up the Shelby real well, take it out for one last Harrah and put it up for sale. The GTX, the Charger and the bikes (the ones I keep) will be more than enough to occupy my time. 8) ;)
