CB350 Four
« on: January 31, 2006, 07:31:20 AM »
I was working on the front end of my 350F last night and I could not figure out how to remove the chrome collar that attaches to the front fork (sorry I don't know the name of the part - forgot my manual at the shop). It looks like it has been pressed on to the fork but how does one get it off without bending it? Of course the helpful Clymer manual mention nothing about how to remove it just a nice diagram with the collar off.  ???

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers :)

...are you talking about the collar on the top portion of the lower fork leg????

It rides under the fork tube cover as the fork travels....has 3 white plastic dots at the top??

You should see an indent on the lower fork leg, on the inside....where you can get screwdriver in. Becareful and go slow...these chrome sliders are just tightly pushed onto the lower fork leg and bend easy. Use this indent as your starting point(make sure to spray some wd-40 on them from the inside...let them soak)...insert the screw driver and lightly tap with a hammer...once you get that side to move....work your way around really easy. Once you get them up a little you should be able to pull it off with just your hands.

Its kind of a pain....because you have to watch not bending the chrome piece or scaring the alloy fork leg.

Hope this helps
