Should I celebrate?
« on: May 08, 2010, 05:03:09 PM »
Ok, It has been ONE year of unemployment this week.
I still have my health, my wife, God by my side and 2 kids in college.

The worst part is lying to my Mom about how my 'job' is going,
luckily she has alshimers and I can't spell.

Hell that's it, I'm going out and getting drunk, maybe some employer will
buy me a drink.

Just needed to vent.
peace,
michel

April 29th was the one year anniversary of my layoff from my flying job. I have had some sporadic calls to fly but not steady work yet. I will lose my medical in about 3 months and unemployment in about the same time. sure hope something improves...meanwhile, go have a drink and go for a nice long ride in the country and realize that even with all that is wrong with your life right now....it could be worse. you are still alive with a family and love and hope.

Don't give up, there has been a small uptick in hiring lately. It is spotty around the country. Chin up and enjoy that drink.

Sounds like we've got us an UNEMPLOYMENT thread going here - which gives us more time to peruse this wonderful forum and work on our scoots!
I got laid off at the end of Feb.  I would ask if any of you need any video editing done, but hey, you're all unemployed and broke like me!!!  ;)
It took 10 years but she's finally done!

More time for the scoots for sure but I'll have to sell one of mine to finance fixing up the others.

Was a year ago March 19th for me.
I don't think we'll see any real #'s until the Dow is over 12,000.
And I don't think we'll ever see prerecession employment levels again.
Hopefully there'll be a chair to sit in when the music stops!

Well, I went out and had a beer.
1st time I have gone into a bar in 25 years.

Tomorrow I keep searching for that elusive job.

That sucks, man.  Its been two years for me, its damn disheartening out there.  There is nothing worse on earth than having to look for a job when you're down to your last dollar.  I wish you the best of luck.

Sometimes its all about having the tenacity of the cockroach.  And the occasional well-timed beer.

Wow.  I say keep trying.  My brother was out of work for 13 months, and found a job just last week working for Caterpillar in their design section.  It's a low-level job compared to what he used to have, but at least he found something.

I am praying you can find that job you so desperatly need, it took me 2 years to be able to find one after I got laid off at the jail. I am only working 3 days a week, but it's better than nothing and I get cash daily as I am waitressing. I love my Job have done it for several years and Love the owners they are great people. On Tues-Fri I am pretty much on call, That is if my phone was working, while typing this I found out they shut down our phone service GRRRR, I just talked to a rep yesterday and she said that they were not gonna shut off our phones, That they were giving me until the 21st to pay the bill. Well it's only the 11th, I am beging to HATE AT&T! But in a small town like ours that is the only option we have  :-[

Told her that our phone lines are our bread and butter and she said yeah your phone bills are my bread and butter, so huni U got your phones restored, ;) Just a little kindness to it, Glad i didn't have to give em heck, how could I when the lady was so nice. :D
