Not sure if it was anybody on the forum, would be suprised if it was, but I blew a fuse on the way to school the other day, right off of 5 and Newburgh in metro detroit. Apparently I'm dumb enough to not have a few spares with me. Someone was finally kind enough to stop after 10-15 cars passed. He ran to the store for me and grabbed some fuses for me. Turns out he rode old jap bikes too. Didn't get into detail, but if you're reading this thanks. There are still nice people out there.
That's what I'd like to hear.

5 and Newburgh

le_sterls, you're getting pretty close to home here! Newburgh a lot nicer with new asphalt, yes? I think they may repave between 5 and 6 this year.

I started carrying extra fuses after blowing a couple, and found a pack of short ones at Murrays/Oreillys, 6 and Newburgh. No more blown ones since I scotchbrited the whole fuseholder, including the spade terminals on each side.

+1 When ever I drive my bike in Chicago I get all kinds of people talking to me, saying things like "I had a bike just like that!" and "Those things run for ever!" and my favorite "Why you pushing your bike?"

Hines Park is nothing like what you may remember Mdub. They close the road to motor vehicles on summertime Saturdays from Nankin Mills into Dearborn. Bicycles, joggers, rollerblades, dog walkers. Its still a nice MC ride, albeit at 40mph.

There used to be thousands of kids from far and wide gathering there nightly for all kinds of activity!  :o :o :o Soooooo many and so much fun that the Wayne County Sheriff and all of his Deputies would take exception.

All the narcs wore painter's caps.
Things did get pretty out of hand for a few years, but, what a blast! ;D
Have some fun down there. 8)

Honda SOHC4, Japanese for magnet I think, everytime I stop my 79 people come up asking questions and other bikers take photos. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Kevin D, 5 and Newburgh is about 2 miles from my house. I live at 5 and farmington. in the neighborhood behind Bates, if your familiar with that place. Can't imagine anyone not being familiar with that place who lives in SE michigan. They only have the best burgers ever. As for Hines drive, I was on my way there when I put on my turn signal (this is what caused my fuse to blow.) Good thing this gent stopped. None of my friends with trucks were awake, and the old man told me to just call a tow truck :-\. Hines drive is always a good place to take a relaxed ride early in the morning, although its a little bit out of the way for me.
That's what I'd like to hear.

Hah, small world le_sterls, I'm just across the ravine from you. We looked for a home in Coventry Gardens but ended up here. I go by "Bates on the Boulevard" an awful lot and have never really sampled their food, but I have to say we like Senate, Primo's, Mama Mia's.
If you are still having big trouble with your fuses, try the scotchbrite, it solved my problem. I looked at the 550 wiring and saw that it was a three fuse model. My K1 only has one glass fuse, 15A.

It's strange that we've never seen each other riding around, eh? Primos is pretty good, along with the Senate, never tried Mama mias. I think I just blew a fuse because it was the original 33 yr. old fuse. I just recently rolled my bike over to 3000 miles, so it hasnt been wrenched on to much. I'll probably try some scotch bright in the fuse box, to avoid future problems. Coventry gardens is a nice place to live. Alot more motorcycle enthusiasts in here than you'd think haha.
