Looks Like I'm the closest one with a Cb750 F.  Mine are 77-78 models.  Is mounting the same for earlier models?

When do they need this?  Mine aren't quite trustworthy to travel that far yet, needing new tires.  I could probably get one there in a couple weeks.  But, they are just sitting in my garage right now.

TT, you da man once again!

TT, I don't usually equate you with a 750F, usually THE 500/550 MAN. The only difference in the years is the emblem on the 77/78 cowls. Email me and I will forward to you the emails I received from Corbin. I will contact Greg at Corbin once we decide if you can do this. I intend on asking Greg for a SOHC4 group discount since the group will be the ones to get the ball rolling again. It would be great if we could promise 10 seats for their first batch! INCENTIVE and ulterior motive. I have already suggested to Greg that they become the official aftermarket seat supplier for SOHC4.net and copied that to Glenn. Greg has shown interest in doing so and said they want to begin production of seats for the SOHC4's once again. Perhaps he will do a special deal for you for more than 1 model?! I haven't heard anything from Glenn.

Thanks buddy!

Jerry

ps He has offered up a loaner. May as well take him up on that! No telling what they may have. I discovered there were 2 hinge part numbers so I'll do a little research and get back. What should matter is that the seat they make attaches to our cowl and pan I would assume and there should be no differences between years.

I ordered my tires for the 750F today, and they should be here tomorrow to be mounted.  A carb clean and it should be ready for a short trip next week.  The bike had sat with the present tires since 1985.  I was worried going over 40MPH with them.

Jerry, do you want to coordinate with Corbin?  Or, should I be calling someone at Corbin for arrangements?

Thx Jerry for doing all the legwork. TT it would be great if you could get a bike up to Corbin. The leather Corbin seat that I had in the early 80's was fantastic.

Just a minor update:

This project is still in the works but as with any large operation it takes longer to deal with bureaucracy and existing issues before taking on the unknown. Corbin has also expressed interest in retooling for other SOHC4 seats.

I sure hope we can come through and make this worthwhile for Corbin by ordering a bunch of seats. We MUST provide support to those that support us! It's not easy to convince these companies such as Corbin, A.P.E., Dynoman that have retooled to spend the kind of money it takes to reproduce new old products from 40 years ago. Volume and cash is all  ;D

I have had four or five Corbins and would love a Gunfighter for my recently purchased '78 F.  What do you want me to do, sit here until I hear from the moderator, or contact Corbin directly?  I'm ready for one whenever they get tooled up.

can anyone show a picture of the K model?  the picture linked thru flikr isn't working...  i have a K with an F tank, which one should i be interested in?  i do like the lines of the F seat, but the last time i sat on a corbin on my buddies old V65, it was hard as a rock and not comfortable!  good shape and looks/form, but it took WAY too long to break it in!!

Paul,

May as well kick back. Corbin is apparently like all other companies in the US, stretched thin and short on time. It's going to take some time yet but it sounds real positive. We have to get a bike to their shop in Hollister, CA and we have 2 willing participants for that. They need the bike for up to a month to fit a seat and set up the tooling which we are working on. They can't get to it just yet.

Why not put an email in to Greg@corbin.com and express your interest. Maybe we should all do this so they can gauge the interest.

WannaB,

I'm not sure about a picture of a K model with a Corbin?? F seats and K seats will not interchange as such. Don't think I've seen that. Anyone else?

Ryan,

Nothing yet. They indicated they were busy and couldn't get to it yet. We have a bike for modeling the seat ready to go, I believe.

I think it's about time we do an email campaign to let them know we are serious. How about it guys?!

Anyone that is interested in a Corbin Gunfighter seat for their 750F send an email to Greg@corbin.com.  Politely let him know that you want to purchase a Corbin Gunfighter seat for your SOHC 750F and that you heard through www.sohc4.net that they are planning on resuming production again. Ask when we can expect to be able to order one. How's that!

I'm starting my build and I sure would like to have one to top it off!

Ryan,

They are talking about others too but we are pushing the F for starters since they've done it before. They have to have a bike for 3-4 weeks to give them time to build a seat and provide the template to use for mass production rather than a 1 off which they can do too. Our F guy in CA also has a 500/550 he can provide for them to use also. I don't know what they did in the 70's/80's for the K's (but we know what they did for the F's) or what they would do now for the K's but it is a big audience they shouldn't ignore. We can only be so patient. Their fans must speak if they want it to happen.
