Topic: Anyone know whose CB400F this is, or recognize the tank/seat?

This bike is BEYOND gorgeous.  My hats off to the builder.  I love the tank, seat/cowl, and rims.  Anyone know what they are and/or where to get them?

The wheels look like stock units with shouldered alloy rims painted white.  The spokes look like they are painted black.  I'm sure you can get those parts form Buchanan and have the rim/hubs powder coated white with the spokes powder coated black.  It is a nice look.

I remember that bike being on ebay about 3 years ago, it was in Germany & rather expensive. It also had some unusual engine work, not only external oil lines to the cylinder head but quite a bit more unexplained plumbing. I think Camelman is right about the wheels, and no idea what the bodywork is from, looks good though.

Sorry not able to give any definite info but seat looks like a modified TZ Yamaha aftermarket.

http://www.buchananspokes.net/categories/rims.asp  is the go to place for all rims of any source, including shouldered. But those don't look like shouldered to me. "Shouldered" is the style that we used to call "mudcatchers" because used on a dirt bike they would catch and retain water and mud in the shoulder.

Those look like standard unshouldered to me.

Back in the day, shouldered were extruded aluminum and with the shoulders they were thought to be stronger than aluminum that looked like the standard steel rims.

But soon, the aluminum rim technology caught up and strength was not an issue.  I ran shouldered rims on my CB750, a Borrani Record on the front and an Akront on the rear. At the time, and maybe forever, I couldn't find a Borrani Record in an 18". They were cool at the time, but a pain in the ass to keep clean. Never again. They don't come wide enough for me now anyway, though for a 400 width isn't an issue.

That rear rim in the picture looks wider than a shouldered rim would be.
