*pics are bigger on my photobucket page: http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y129/FishingforSwedes/

Purchased March 30, 2010 from a guy in Marshall, TX for $1650. 28k miles on the odometer.

First pics:

When I got it, it was all original except missing the right sidecover and the tank badges; with a full Kerker exhaust and a Dyna electric ignition. The first things I did were to remove the front peg bar and put new exhaust gaskets on at the head. The motor runs decently well, however it does use oil. Since it runs well enough I'm not going to get into motor work until I have the deep pockets to afford it.
My plans for the moment center on 2 main things: the seat and the front end. The original seat has tears on the sides from 33 years of fat asses, so I'm planning on getting a tail from airtech streamlining. I have to get a new front tire since I managed to find a screw last week, so it's getting a D501 to ride on as I gather parts for a front end conversion. I think I've found a sufficient donor at the cycle junkyard in the form of a late-model Ninja with the complete front end still on it, from the clip ons down to the tire. 41mm upside-downers and 4 piston monoblocs yes please! The steering head compatibility is not an issue right now-I don't mind spending $$$ at the machine shop if it's well spent. A bike this heavy really needs bigger forks anyway.

Anyway to please the "restore it" crowd I ganked some tank badges from my friend with the $100 backyard F3 find(this thing-)

I'm currently debating what to paint these...I don't want to anodize them back to gold, that's too 70's tack. I'm thinking semi gloss black and sanding the letters back to bare metal should look sweet. Also from the same $100 bike I have the superbike bend handlebars which I plan on installing around the same time as the badges and front tire.

Anyway I'll keep this thread updated as I update the bike. Feel free to give me any suggestions on anything, as I'd really like to hear everyone's opinion about it.
