Syncing carb choke
« on: May 13, 2010, 05:56:14 AM »
I'm having a bit of a time getting all four choke slides move up and down the same distance. They are all off a bit. All you have for adjustment is one full revolution of the eye bolt. How important is this?

I think the choke adjustment is very pretty important on these bikes which seem to be known for their cold starting. The K4 which I just finished had that issue. I failed to check it when I rebuilt the carbs and had a terrible time starting it when cold. Took them back off and 2&3 were far off compared to 1&4. I did it the right way and the starting is no longer an issue. On mine I can turn that eye bolt many revolutions as needed to line them up.

Just another area where the later carbs are great. You dont have to adjust the choke like that at all. you do have a fast idle cam but it is not "required".
