New Guy Here
« on: January 31, 2006, 08:58:27 PM »
Hey all,
Been lurking for a while, and I'm amazed at the wealth of information here. I picked up my 75 CB750 about a year ago, and finally have it mechanicaly sound ( sort of). Originally had the intentions of chopping, but can't bring myself to do it, the old girl kinda grew on me.
Now thats the mechanicals are almost up to par, time to start with the cosmetics. ( and get rid of that hideous seat!)

Hey David, welcome.  I'm new here too, it's nice to have another newbie around. I have the same exact seat on my '77, it's as ugly as sin but I have to admit it's pretty comfy. I will, however, be looking for an original style seat to replace mine as soon as I get it running. I was going to chop my '77 as well, but couldn't bring myself to cut on it so I bought an old amen savior frame. After having it for about 6 months and slowly tearing down the '77, I decided to just clean up the old girl and find a donor engine somewhere to put in the chop frame. So I'm slowly stopping the cancer on the frame (mainly light surface rust) and cleaning it and putting back together. I'll get it running good again and street legal, then in a few years (if it makes it that long) I'll break down the engine and do a rebuild. She has 31K miles on the odo. I don't have a lot of time to work on the bike, so it's going to take a while, but good things come to those who wait. Good luck on your project.
