Just returned from a 9600 km ride from British Columbia to Mexico and then stored the bike in Austin Texas. Too much fun in Mexico ,ran out of time and flew back. Will pick it up in September. Its a 78 750 F. Ran well, put a battery, a tube(rear) and a hard to find 630 88 chain on it. OK its not a round trip! Yet.  Hot weather in July ,suprised that I had no overheating woes.

3000 + miles for me.  I'm a new rider and in July I bought my first bike, a 750 K6, and I went camping for all of August.  I rode from LA to Seattle on the coast, then back down on the 395 (Eastern Sierras) and hit Boise and Yosemite.  Check out this slide show!  It was a relaxing time, only riding about 300 miles a day.  The bike was flawless, aside from chain lube, I did nothing to it.  I can't wait 'till I can do it again.  I currently use the bike every day for 90% of my commuting and errands.  Any recommendations for West coast touring rides?

Wow, you guys are inspiring.  I've only done about 150 miles round trip on the 550.  From Portland, to the coast, down the 101 a bit and back to Portland.  I'm seriously thinking about taking a trip next summer to San Diego to visit family then head back.  Should only take me a couple days to get down there I think, over 1000 miles.

This was the first summer with the Honda so no big trip just a few 300 mile trips to a friends lake cabin.  In 1982 I took a 6000 mile trip on a SOHC 2 ;D (Yamaha XS650).  Minnesota, Sturgis, Yellowstone, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, San Fransisco, Oregon,Crater Lake, Montana, and home to Minnesota.  Gone for a month with 14 travel days.

In October 2009 I spent three days going from Birmingham Al. to Phoenix Az.  Stayed in Phoenix for several days and spent three days on the road back to Birmingham.  Total was about 3800 miles in 6 days of actual riding.  1974 CB750 with less than 20k when I left.  I endorse Randakk's amazing grips for rides such as these.

Az to Sturgis to New Mexico to NYC then back. Speedo broke but I think its safe to say it was over 7000 miles. On a 550 with clubmans...  ;D

One day I will do a round the world trip on a 550 or 750.

I would do it in a second, if I had the money :( which I dont think is going to happen soon. Just out of curiosity you should PM me what you are projecting the cost of your trip to be.

Two-up: 6881 miles in 2 weeks (IL-IA-NE-CO-AZ-UT-WY-CO-KS-MO-IL)
One-up: 8200+ miles in 2 weeks (CO-WY-ID-WA-OR-ID-UT-AZ-NM-CO).

Chasing with my brother on his CB500: 5800+ miles in 10 days (CO-NM-TX-NM-AZ-UT-CO), he came in as MO-KS-TX to meet me, then returned after as CO-KS-MO.

Another with him: he went MO-IL to meet me, we went IL-WI-SD-CO-NE-KS-MO-(and solo back to IL). Don't remember the mileage, was 6 days riding.

My longest ride so far was a real back breaker. The extended time in the saddle tools it toll on me and my bike.  Not sure what the total length of time/days it was but when I read the odometer I had clocked 6 miles.  Man what a ride.

Important facts for this.  I have only had the bike for six weeks and just got it running and on the road.  This was only my second shake down ride just to make sure things were put on correctly and not going to fall off.  Next ride could hit 10 miles :).

It was no continent crossing affair, but the longest single round-trip for me was Mich. to N.Y., about 750 mi. each way.

Same here, but reversed, NY to MI and back

God, this thread is older than at least one of my bikes! My longest weekend ride was around 1000 miles when I rode from Melbourne to Bathurst and back for the 1983 Easter TT. Great ride, but there are much better bikes out there for long distance riding, so I use my CB750's for day rides and commuting nowadays. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hey, Terry: do you remember the name of that Aussie who took the bet to ride a CB750 around the whole perimeter of AUS in something like a couple of weeks? His story is so cool. It was posted here for a while.
