SL350 K0 front brake switch troubles
« on: May 13, 2010, 05:08:57 PM »

Hey gang

Got my SL350 delivered today and gave it a quick once over to see what electrical issues I'm going to need to get to grips with. Two things immediately leapt out at me - the starter button doesn't; and the front brake light switch doesn't either. The starter's not too much of an issue - I've got a spare switchgear kicking around somewhere from my CB450 rebuild.

But the front brake switch is a whole other matter. As it's an early model bike, the switch is built in to the brake cable, and there's very little access to it (as far as I can see). Sadly, they're no longer available - so what I need to know is has anyone cracked open the switch assembly either to fix it or find out how it works?  I doubt it's a particularly complex arrangement, but I thought I'd ask before crashing in.

And one other thing while I'm thinking cables - the throttle cable's pretty much had it, and like the brakes, they're no longer available.  Is there any great difference (other than colour) between an SL350 throttle cable and a CL450 cable?

Thanks
