'76 750- good bad and ugly?
« on: September 20, 2010, 04:08:31 PM »
I am waiting to hear back from someone that has one sitting in their garage.  They may be looking to unload it.  I currently have a CB360.  I was just wondering if you guys can give me the good, bad an ugly about that model year.  Any particular issues I should be looking for other that the normal stuff on a 35 year old bike.  I am looking for the things that make that year 'special'.  Like the triples cracking and the tensioner issues on the 360.

Thanks.

If it's cheap you buy it.....that's the unbroken rule, deal with the quirks of the SOHC4's as they occur, that's rule #2. ;D ;)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I have a K6.  It's the last of the "old look".  The K7 and K8 have an updated look which is okay but I really like the retro look of K0-K6.  They are supposed to be among the slowest of the CB750s.  Don't fret though... it's pretty easy to regain the lagging performance with a few minor modifications.  My K6 would lift the front wheel with just a throttle crack in first (17 tooth front sprocket).  If I had a good opportunity to get another, I would...   in a heartbeat.

They had more low end torque tuned in to handle baggage etc as the Goldwings were just hitting the scene and the 750's were handling the load. The are fine bikes/
