Yep. The triple trees are clamped on a bit lower though - about 10cm exposed at the top. And I added the stainless steel peices you see between the tripple trees.

I scored a set of new fork tubes for a friend, but turns out they are for an F model and the fittings in the bottom are a bit different. If anyone is rebuilding a 77-78 750F I have a pair of fork tubes for sale.

I can't believe you snatched those 350's from under my nose. Are they the 'scrambler style' with the high pipes and all the crazy chrome down the side? That is the #1 bike on my want list.

This Shiner ride may have to be the victory lap for this bike. I have really been enjouying the cooler temperatures... hope everyone is out riding. Any of you Texans planning on the Harvest Classic coming up in a few weeks? http://harvestclassic.org/

I just added 100 ft of 1 inch Titanium exhaust wrap to my pipes. A couple of my friends were clammoring for it, so I couldn't dissapont.

Glad I got two rolls - that little three foot peice hanging off is all I had left.

Hey guys - Got most of my wiring squared away now, and I'm all set to paint the tank/seat/side covers etc. this weekend. Even decided on the color and bought the paint. Plus, my brother-in law has been helping me modify my exhaust. We had to cut and re-weld the baffle so I could shorten the muffler the way I wanted. Really interested to hear how its going to sound. If all goes well, I could have a complete bike in very short order.

oohai - interested to hear more about your project. What are you building?

Was out at my grandfather's house this weekend, and he and my brother-in-law helped me paint. This was a first for me, and I have to say I am really happy with the results. Everything was sanded down and cleaned first, then we sprayed on the primer. For paint I used a urethane base coat / clear coat. There's a run or two on a couple parts, but overall I think it turned out awesome.

What is the story on your fork ears and turn signals?

I was thinking about going LED but with those housings, I might decide to stay with incandescent. Sharp.

Slow to post again, but I have not been totally unproductive.

I was hoping to have my cafe project done for the Harvest Classic in Luckenbach a week or so back, but a couple small setbacks are still keeping the bike from being done. So, I took some time to give my other cb750 a serious tune up. Good thing too, 'cause I think she was getting jealous...

Completely rebuilt the front end, greased steering bearings, new fork oil & seals, NEW PROGRESSIVE SPRINGS (awesome), replaced torn gator, rebuilt front brake and added stainless steel line. Also swapped out a broken left hand control on the handlebar and replaced my ratty grips with new ones. New speedo cable too.

Then I tore down the rear end, greased the swing arm, adjusted the rear shocks, adjusted the rear brake, and adjusted and lubed the chain. Also replaced a broken bracket that holds up the rear of my exhaust.

I took off my velocity stack experiment and replaced them with K&N pods, adjusted the timing slightly, and the idle screws on the carbs. Did a refresh on my starter solenoid. Put in fresh plugs, added fresh fuel line and filters, and finally changed the oil and filter. I even polished my saddlebags while I was at it.

Now if I can just finish that cafe project...

Had the day off yesterday and finally rounded up the last of the electrical components I was missing. Thought I would give it some gasoline and see what happened...

This is actually the second time the bike ran. I flooded it the first time.

Maiden Voyage! My tank is still a week or two from being ready, but I fit up one off my other bike and took her for a spin. Trying to be gentle, and keep the RPMs low, but I rode around town for the first time on Saturday. Such a great feeling.

theofam - I was having some clearance issues with my carbs. Been working with Roc City to modify the bottom and reseal it. I can't recommend that shop enough. Great quality work and they really stand behind the product.
