does anyone know if you can buy new pelums for the air box, my box is sound, but the connections from the intakes on the box dont seem to be air tight is this and issue.  please help...

Look for the post that talks about reconditioning rubber:  wintergreen oil and xylene or something...

only 5.45???  wow!  i'm going the xylol route, since it's cheaper, but dang, that's a really good deal!!  especially if yours are so hard they're frozen into the box and you have to break them out

Try the dealer if you don't want to order from David Silver, but you'll probably get better, faster service from DSS at about the same price, and shipping will only be a few bucks.

I did the xylol/wintergreen trick and I couldn't be more impressed.  I did both the airhorns and manifolds.  I'm told by someone else on this forum (a name you all know) that the xylol/wintergreen treatment makes the parts softer than the brand new ones he had on hand. 

When I started with this part, it was hard like porcelain.  I thought attempting to re-shape it in any way would break it.  The picture is after using the magic juice.  With 16oz of wintergreen and a pint of xylol, I have done at least 6 sets of rubber parts - with equally wonderful success.  I'm glad I didn't throw them away...  I also did some sidecover grommets.

I'd recommend getting a paint can (actually someone on the forum here recommended it) to seal the vapors in.  I used a coffee can and it didn't work real well (the lid swelled and didn't seal).  Use a respirator... don't do it inside your house.. avoid putting your hands in the stuff.  Enjoy - when you're done, you'll kinda be dumbfounded that it worked so well.
