$820 for a Lester? Is this some kind of a gag?

BTW- Lesters are notorious bearing killers, as the spacers between the bearings (inside the wheels) were sometimes too short/long. What happens if too short. when the axle gets tightened down, it draws the inner races too far and loads the piss out of them. 2 months later, you got roasted bearings. Easy to check and remedy if need be.

I came in here a bit late, but if this helps, here is my Lester dual set up.
The key for me was a bit of grinding off of the right fork lower point of brake bolt-on. It was a bit off kilt till I did that ;)

I have more photos of it as it went together if someone wants them.

Sorry  ::)  Mind going.

They are, of course XS400 wheels...

I have a set of REAL Lesters for a Goldwing which could be made to fit. New in boxes.
£400 + shipping.

Fishhead, any chance you have any SOHC/GL Lester Wheel part numbers you'd like to share?

Nah, I don't write that info down, and if I did it would get lost. I have had the CB/GL front Lester in 18 and 19 inch and I have had both in 1.85 and 2.15 width. The 6 bolt brake disc Honda Lesters would fit a variety of bikes from the CB 450 on up to the GL 1000.

Part Numbers:

Front Lester Part No: 22010, T19x2.15
Rear Lester Part No: 20334, T18x3.00 Drum Brake

The front wheel pictured is a 5 bolt brake disc (78 and later GL/CB) but the GL 1000 has a rear disc brake. You may have a CB 750/900 (DOHC) set instead.
Is the rear shaft or chain drive?(cush drive or Shafty pin type drive)

Thanks to everyone for their replies.

Hannibal - TY for the note about them being bearing killers.  After reading that went to check them out, the rear was fine but the front has a questionable one!  Will replace both of the fronts.

Tonight I took the rear sprocket/brake assemblies off of my H2 to see if they'd work with the Lester on the Honda...So far it looks like it'll work.  The only drawback I see is I will need to come up with some additional spacers on both sides of the axle, and reset the rear brake shoe lever to where it points down instead of up.

Great looking dual brake setups!  After seeing those definitely putting that on the list...

The Lester is a great looking wheel.

The simple quick check is to make sure the bearings are settled square on the outer races, then internal bearing spacer should have no, or basically zilch back/forth play, if it is just rattling around in there it is probably too short. A teeny bit short is ok, but a lot is a no go. Some guys would even "pre load" the spacer and make it .010" or so longer-when the axle got tightened, the sleeve compressed a tiny bit, and bearing load was perfect.

You don't have to sweat things that bad though. Bearings are cheap, and spacers are easy to turn.

SUCCESS!!!

Was able to use the rear H2 sprocket hardware & brake hub.  The two main tricks was spacing the rear wheel out (on the left side doubling the kaw spacer, and on the left use the stock spacer plus an additional one sized to fit) and cutting a chain guard to fit.

Soon as the rain lets up will take 'er out for a ride.  Thanks for all the replies everyone.

Thanks again for everyone's responses.  Sometime this fall or winter will strip the bike down, rebuild the motor, do a respectable paint job...
