APE clutch kit fitment
« on: May 18, 2010, 07:11:00 am »
Hi all,
I think I have a problem, but the problem could be me  ::)

I'm in the process of installing an APE "CK750-3 Heavy Duty 9 Plate Clutch Kit for Honda SOHC thru '76".  The friction discs were not fitting in the basket so I checked them against the original friction discs.  The original friction discs measure ~5.5" OD (caliper is in the garage), the APE discs measure ~5.8" OD.

Anyone out there with experience with this kit that can tell me if there is an installation trick I'm missing or if my package was perhaps mismarked?

Thanks,
Rob

I'm thinking you have the wrong fibers packaged in your kit.  I ordered the same a few weeks back and got over sized fibers too.  A phone call to APE and an emailed pic of what I received with a stock fiber next to it was all it took to get a new clutch kit on the way with the proper fiber.  They must have made a oopsie at when packaging them, the rep said it sounded like DOHC CB fibers got swapped with the SOHC CB fibers.
