Will '78 CB750a wheels work somehow on the '77 550f??
« on: May 18, 2010, 05:46:12 PM »
It seems like if I have the 750a's front brake disc turned down to the 550's diameter, the front wheel will work.
The 750a uses a much larger chain so is it best to find a new front sprocket to match the rear?
   Any ideas?

It might be less work to lace the 750A's aluminum hoops to your hubs.

???  I would double check if the chain will clear the enginecase. There is not a lot of room on the 550, a lot of people tried fitting an o-ring 530 chain and found that it was too wide. You'll need an offset sprocket in that case.
Is it a 530 0-ring chain?

sprockets can be found here:

Most people change sprockets and chain at the same time.

Are there mags well suited for usage on a cb550F?
