Topic: Bullet Size

I searched but couldn't find the size of the bullet connectors on a stock wiring harness.  I found a site that sells bullets in 2 sizes.  0.156 in (approx 4.0 mm) and 0.180 in (approx 4.5 mm).  Will either of these sizes work?

I found a battery for my digital caliper and measured a few.  It looks like the .180 (4.5mm) are standard US Auto Parts Store issue, the .156 (4.0mm) are available some places, but the REAL stock bullet connectors for 70's CBs are 0.136 (3.5mm).  I did find a few 4.0mm connectors on my bike.  They were connected to a silver box wired between the points and the coils.  Hmmm now WHO coulda done that?

Hmmmm OK.  I guess it's best to measure before you order!  Vintage Connections stipulates the 3.5mm are "70's Honda turn signal and current sport bikes".  So I'm guessing there may be a mix on our bikes??

Could well be a mix, but I always thought they were the same size. I would tend to believe the source that said 3.9 mm. It was not a turn connector I measured, BTW.

Agreed.  I think I'll get a quantity of 3.9 male & female, maybe a few dual and triple females too.I could always squeeze th3 3.9 sockets down a bit when working with turn signals.
