Help w/Petcock attachment
« on: February 02, 2006, 08:08:54 AM »
I just bought a replacement petcock for my K4 750. It's going on a tank that has no petcock. The new petcock did not come with any attaching parts. From the parts fiche, it looks like there are two 6mmx28mm screws and two gaskets that hold this thing to the tank. Do I have to buy these from Honda, or can I use hardware store screws and o rings? Is there anytinng else that holds it on? Are the o rings simply placed on to the screws, and seal to the inside of the petcock when the screws are tightened? Anyone got spares they'd want to part with? Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Doug,

I have what I believe is an entire petcock assembly from a K4, at least the tank it came off (eBay) was listed as a K4. It is exactly like my K0 petcock. Can you post a pic of the one you have to make sure? It's avail if you are interested and its the correct one.

Should have added, I can post or send a pic of the one I have if you are interested.

Thanks for the reply. I have attached a pic of the exploded drawing in the parts fiche. I need parts 25 and 30, not the entire petcock.

I have the two screws #30 and fiber washers #25. They're yours if you want them. Shoot me an eMail with your address and I can just drop them in an envelope.
