eBay disputed purchase. Well, we'll see how this goes...
« on: May 19, 2010, 07:27:46 PM »
Paid for a 550 airbox on 30 April and haven't seen it.  3 emails to the seller with one reply on the 11th saying it shipped.  I opened a case...

Longer to receive the item than you'd like I'm sure. The EBay process works. I had to do it for a tank. Count on the process taking longer than your wait time so far. Be ready to jump through some hoops.

I was burned on a Turntable sale. The seller used this trick to rob me, so I use it in my own defense. When I buy on ebay I only use my American Express card via PayPal.

1. PayPal claims to have a time limit on when a buyer can reverse you. American Express has a different time limit which is much longer.

2. If I reverse via American Express, they withdraw the funds form PayPal. PayPal has to then go get the money from the seller, I do not have to wait. Let them chase the guy around.

This was done to me, out of the blue the guy reverses on me way past the PayPal time limit guidelines. I beef to PayPal, and they tell me "sorry AMEX supersedes us."

When you use your AMEX card via PayPal you can see they don't like it. While you are going through the checkout screens they give you several songs and dances why you should not do this.  This alone tells me they don't want to have to chase deadbeat sellers.

I tried to sell on ebay sold 2 things and one was good then the other omg lets just say that the ladys kid got ahold of CLOCK BOX NOT SHOPPING BOX and poked like a million little holes in the clock box and then SHE wants ME to ship her another one for FREE! I have option of HER getting the insurance on it and she did not take it, so I took out the insurance When i shipped it. and told her I had taken insurance out on it and would give her the insurance slip so SHE could make the claim on it and she refused, oh well I did not replace it because when it left home it was in perfect condition. When she sent the clock back to me because she said it was broke I had no ideal her kid had tottally beated the tar out of it with a pen knife or something. So I do not sell on ebay no more, only buy but I look at feedback first.

Well, got my airbox today.  I filed the complaint on the 19th and it shipped on the 20th.  I didn't even start the project yet so no real damage done I guess...

Be sure to give feedback on the ebay site that reflects the slow shipping.
