Good job Trevor and too bad you have to sell it but...if money is tight then totally understandable. These bikes can be money pits...ask me how I know ;).

Good luck with the sale!

Man T...it sure looks different than when we loaded it up!!! You did a nice job on it for sure. I understand what you mean when money it tight. Problem is after you sell that bike and that money is gone you have nothing. No 750 and no money. But that is how it goes I guess. I just hope it is your decision and not someone elses as I think you may regret this sale of your first 750...especially when it runs sooooooooooo nice!!! Good luck with the sale.

Great Job......Trevor!  You win the prize!  I have a spare pass to get you into the Road America Vintage weekend......June 11-13.  It comes with my swap-meet space.  Its yours if you want it!.....Ride your 350 and bring a sleeping bag.......or ride with Johnie.........If he has room.  I know what it takes to work on a budget.  Good Luck with the sale.  I have restored several bikes and sold them to raise funds for the next project. Each one gets better with practice and enough $$$ to get the best parts.

Today I changed the oil and addressed a leaky carb issue. Even though I cleaned and rebuilt the carbs and installd new bowl gaskets I was having issues with leaky bowls. I fixed one carb with a new gasket but the #3 carb was still leaking after two different good gaskets so I took the carbs off to have a better look. The sealing surfeace looked okay (not great) so I used a dental pick to remove a few small areas of deposits. Since I knew this wasn't the issue set the bowl on the carb without a gasket and noticed that the bowl was rocking instead of sitting flat. After some looking I saw that the bowl was hitting one of the float posts and this was causing the rocking. I used my dremel to remove a little of the post and that cured the rocking.

With a new gasket, this seems to have fixed all of my leaking float bowls. After the carbs proved to no longer leak I put them back on the bike. I just bought a new battery so I was finally able to use the electric start for the first time. The bike still runs great!

In an interesting twist of fate, my CB750 will be going back home to japan. I was contacted through one of my craigslist ads by a man from this websie:http://canaanworks.com/index.html. Him and another person buy specific old japanese bikes and sell them back in japan. He said he needed to buy 14 motorcycles on this trip, I assume, to fill up a shipping container.

He was very thurough in his inspection of the bike, looking for any signs of frame or crankcase damage. He knew all of the common issues and what to look for. He was surprised that I knew about Yamiya so I showed him this website. He bought the bike and will be back in a week or so to pick it up. On one hand it's a little sad to know there will be one less cb750 in the US, but he payed me what I wanted and I am glad to know that it will be apperciated and hopefully restored over in Japan.

Cash I hope...sounds fishy to me. But I just hear of to many stories of the scams. I guess the fact that he was there is a positive.

Paid in cash. I figured it wasn't a scam since he showed up. There were no cashier's checks or Nigerian princes involved :D

The new owners picked the bike up today. He said they ended up buying 17 motorcycles on this trip and had driven more than 3000 miles. After they left my house they had another bike to pick up in Wisconsin, then one in Missouri tomorrow, and then back to California to ship them all to Japan. He said that they have been doing this about 5 years but they have competitors that have been doing it for 20!

Loading it up. The bike next to it is a KZ1000.

The bike on the right in the back of the truck looked like a green K1 with mag wheels.

Off to a new owner in Japan who will hopefully restore it!

HA! I told her how now there is more room in the garage so she said I guess you'll just have to get another one. I'll take that as permission :D

Shame you had to sell to those guys.

Those guys are running around trying to snatch up all the remaining bikes....thus ruining the hobby for us here in the states. :(

I would have charged him double the minute he told me what he was doing.

Good follow up Trevor and glad to see it going to a good place. The guys in Japan know what they are doing and Im sure someone is going to get a nice running 750 in the future. Great to see international business at work ;). They did the same thing with the 50s, 60s and 70s Harleys and have been very successful with it.

I agree with you, but only to a point. I had my bike for sale for 3 weeks with only one lowball offer. They were the only ones who made a good offer and paid in cash. Can't argue with that.
