I've got the 500K2 fiche from 1976. I bought it on eBay a couple of years ago out of interest but have never had access to a reader...

If there's any way to get this scanned to digital, I'm interested.  We could also host the result on this site.

I have microfiche for:

CB400F '76, '77
CB500   K1, K2
CB550F '76
CB550F '77
CB550K '77, '78

I can probably borrow Microfiche for all the other SOHC4's from my MC shop buddy.  I'd have to negotiate and would need to know how long it would be borrowed and how secure the microfiche will be from damgae/loss.

Fill us in on the process and costs.

Supply and Services set me on a local company that should be able to do the work, just waiting on a reply from the contact I was given, should now more by the end of next week.  I'll let you know when I find out more.

I don't know what's on the microfiche, but I just spent 10 minutes and saved every view for the 1975-550K1 in pdf format.  I just set Adobe as the default printer and printed each one.  Scarfed it from crotchrocket, which I'm sure is violating someone's rights somewhere.  I'm going to spend another 10 minutes and get the same for my 175.  I can do more for whomever wants whatever.  If these files are OK, I can upload them however is best.

I bought the CB350 microfiches when I started my resto, thinking it will be easy to buy a handheld reader. It turned out that it was easier to buy the actual parts manual than a handheld reader, so I just kept it as another of my "Honda" memorabilia.

FWIW, we have in the office a very modern copier. I have copied the shop manuals of all my bikes in such a way that there are two pages per page (half size) and the parts manual in a way that there are 4 pages per page. Not only this save me space (so I got all my originals to storage outside my appartment), but also I put every single sheet inside one of those punched plastic sleeves, so no problem with dirty fingerprints anymore.

Can't get the scanning done "in house" but there are a couple of Libraries within an hours drive from home that has the microfiche printers.  I plan on doing a test on a fiche then trying it through an OCR.  I'll keep everyone posted on the results.

We can certainly host these on the website.  I can also help with conversion to pdf from jpg.
