DAvid Silver Spares throttle cables
« on: May 20, 2010, 05:45:29 PM »
Ordered a set of throttle cables from DS spares for my CB750 K1.  They arrived three inches too short. DS said - Oh that was the UK version and sent me a set with the correct length - same part number. UK length is shorter? Are the bikes smaller too? ???
Do you have to specify - this is for the US or UK? I don't think so.

Just a guess but the non-US bikes may have come with a lower bar or lower bar option. The part numbers are definitely different for the UK vs. US throttle cables.

Hush just went through this very thing with them. He ordered a clutch cable specific for his NZ version CB650 and it was the wrong length due to his police bike having higher bars than the NZ version of bike normally on the road around there. He talked to them on the phone and everything... it is better to call them I guess and verify the length and the handlebar setup.

I've just fitted a set from DSS to my Oz K2 and had no probs, they are spot on - but then I do have the slightly lower "continental" bars on it rather than the standards that turned me into a windsock. ::)

Most US bikes have higher bars and need longer cables
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

When you say "they" do you mean push and pull? If so, I'll take them if you don't want them.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.
