1973 CB750K3: Forks... what do I have?
« on: May 22, 2010, 08:09:27 AM »
I'll try to get pics.  Just got my new forks from cycle exchange (look great and great price).  The length matches, but the recessed band on the new forks is about 3/4 higher than the original forks.  I was assured by Cycle X that this would not matter.  However, there is a hole in the center of the band on the new forks... I have NO hole on my fork tubes.  Cycle X told me there should be a hole on my old forks... I can't find it.  The internals of the fork match the Honda fiche for my year, so I *think* these are the right forks...  Can anyone weigh in?  I'm sure the hole is a valve in a damping system, but are the new forks correct?  Do I have to find a pair of tubes without the hole??
