hammer and a vise works too ;D

that white wall looks great on there, I wish my bike looked good on whitewalls, but alas raised white letters is as close as I can get without clashing styles.
everything I say is pure speculation and
I have no idea what I'm talking about  ._.

got the tail light on there , tiniest one i could find looks pretty cool, but the brake light is just as bright as the running light  ::)  ... have to get a halogen bulb.. or i might have it wired backwards

also , one thing i've admired for awhile is painted inner hubs (an idea i got from Paulages a few years back on one of his build threads)   .. and since i had the wheel off to change the tire , i thought "why not"  ... so it came apart and found it's way to the polishing wheel , and then the paint booth

i'm really diggin the polished fins, ... thats hot...  should look awesome next to the caliper with polished fins ... can't wait to see it  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Don't worry, you're not really far gone until you are IMing each other even though you're in the same room and sitting less than 10 feet from each other.  :)

Wheel looks sick. Definately worth the effort. Get the caliper back together yet? Kinda interested in how it came out. Lemme know if you got anything small you need blasted. (I'm about to fix the blaster at work again ::) )

so i wanted to lower the brakelight switch thingy .. so that the banjo fittings would clear the headlight a little better .. and to open up the rats nest a little since that area will be way more visible now (with the new headlight ears and all that junk)

if you look just above the hole on the left you'll see whats left of the original mount spot

i used the 750 switch, because it had two bolt holes , instead of just the one that the 550 version has

EDIT: wanted to show the 550 switch for reference

Nice work, like the polished hubs also. That polished brake switch also pops very nicely!

don't gotta lot o time to type right now ... but i wanted to throw up these pics and let you all know ... the new setup is a knock out ..   the 750 dampeners with 550 progressive springs is night and day better then what it was (way stiffer)    and the 130/90-16  hugs the corners beautifully ...  i really dig the look of the new front end ..  and of coarse the whitewalls

i'm still waiting on the nickel plated chain .. other then that ... i think i'm ready for MVR
i'll have more to say in a bit .... i gotta go  ;)

Hey, you are missing the spiked rear axle!  The bike is not complete!

J/K, the bike looks good as usual!
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

hate to resurrect this old thread just for this but .... i took the time to take the pictures during this process.. but couldn't think of where to post them ..(didn't wanna start a new thread over a side cover)

took a piece of sheet from the housing of an external hard drive (thanx Kramer)

attached it with 2 part epoxy

not sure why i took this picture , but you can see why this had to be built up

bondo is my akiles heel ... i hate it  .....but i'm good at it

Thanks Spikey....you were always the master of all things molded.

I just got a new engraving machine.  I'm trying to find some decent cutters so that I can try some aluminum badges.
Also trying to hog out the rear of the badges so they would fit better on the convex surfaces that I want to put them on.

I can still make the ones out of plastic - haven't thought about those in a while.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.
