Don't hate my K8
« on: May 23, 2010, 08:48:40 AM »
Ive still got some small cosmetic things to do, suspension upgrade and on and on but it's getting there. I spent the winter building a 836 . Head work, cam, springs bla bla bla on and on. When you come up with a "budget" for that engine build, double it !

 port work

 shiny Wisecos !

 coming togehter

 cam going in

 and there it is

 bike back in one piece

Nice job! I have K8 also, mine is less aggressive.

Beautiful bike, I don't think I could find it in me to hate that.
That's what I'd like to hear.

This thing really runs strong. It's kinda "hot roddish" in that it really comes alive between 6 and 9k rpms. It cruises nice between 55 and 80 mph on the interstate, without feeling like I'm pushing it to much. Over all I'm very happy with it. When I'm not riding solo acting like a idiot on a 32 year old crotch rocket, I throw the sissy bar on and the wife and I cruise through the mountains.
A friend of mine that builds heads for pulling tractors did the head work for me. Port, valve job, installed my new springs and seals. Kinda over my head, but it looked great when he was done.
I think the exhaust is a 4 to 2 Mac not really sure. I used a wire wheel on a grinder on the head pipes then high temp primer and paint.
Thanks for the compliments, I've got a hell of alot of work in this bike. It's great to hear some good comments, makes it seem even more worth while. I don't even talk about this at work, they just would'nt understan.  ;D
