There's really no set value for what you're asking.  There's just too many variables involved.  Like the air filter you're running, exhaust, type of pods, condition of your carbs, etc.  Best thing to do is buy multiple sizes of idles and mains and start doing plug chops at various throttle settings under load.  The jet needle clip position will most likely have to be changed too.   Find out what jets you have now and go up from there.
It's a pain in the butt, but if you want it to run right you'll have to do it.

I'll echo what fastbroshi said.  For anyone to give you anything more than a guess, they'd need to know your exhaust system, type of pods, and any other mods you have done to the engine.

Your best bet is to start doing plug chops, get several size jets, and go from there.   It'll probably take the better part of a day to get it right.  And don't get any speeding tickets when you do the plug chops.   ;)

I'll be honest, if it weren't such a hassle to find the right pods that fit well, I'd probably try it (K&N's?).   It makes servicing the carbs soooo much easier.  If anyone has experience with the K&N's please let me know.

Back to your issue though.  What's your reason for wanting pods?  Looks, more performance, ease of maintenance, maybe a mixture of all these?  If it's for looks I say go for it.

Honestly, you're not going to get an appreciable uptick in hp for what you want to do.  Your money is probably better spent on good tires and getting the suspension dialed in for your weight.  Not trying to get off topic but it's just a time consuming task to jump into.

I have K&N's. They fit perfect on a 550, but it's never easy to rejet. You need to put on a dyno if you want to do it properly, and take lots of jetsizes with you.
It's pointless to give you jetsizes as my bike has open pipes and ported head as well. And lean burn carbs. To give you an idea, I went from 90 to 115 and it's still a little lean. But this is extreme and most 550's ill not need such a big change in jetsize, for each bike this will be different.

If you're lucky you won't have to change idle jets.
