750 liner size
« on: February 09, 2012, 10:41:19 AM »
Can anyone please advise the major O/D of the standard 750 cylinder liners, (or the bore size through the barrel casting)?

I don't want to remove one just to measure it up if at all possible and the part of the liner that protrudes on the underside is tapered and I cannot see if the "O" ring groove here is a step in the liner or the casting, hence my question?

Thanks in advance guys.

O/D is 69.6mm
casting is tapered for the O-ring and the liners do have 67.9mm O/D (25.8mm length) underneath the casting

I have been reliably informed that my new (aluminium) liners need to have a least a 3.5mm wall thickness, so that means I have to have a minimum O/D of 72mm (65mm pistons).

Anyone know the rough cost (in the UK) of having the upper case modified to allow for the bigger diameter liners?
