Help with KO
« on: June 14, 2010, 07:13:05 PM »
Ok. I have a 1970 late model KO.

Timing good. Points good.  Valve clearances good. Ignition good. Plug gap good.

I am running open 4 into 2 exhaust and pods.

I believe the carbs are from a K1 or later. Carbs have the bell crank.

Air screws about 3.5 turns out

The bike has always run rich.

This is a bit odd I think. 110 mains, 40 slow jet and needle clips set in the middle.

I have had the bike for a while and have no idea what the previous owner(s) may or may not have done.

The bike runs really good when cold,  but once it warms up it runs ok but stumbles a bit, doesn't idle well and does not run as strong as I think it should.

I'm thinking I need to start with fresh jets and go from there.

Any guidance or suggestions?
