Yep, gauge needle removal...with a twist!
« on: May 26, 2010, 10:08:29 PM »
So I'm rebuilding a CB450 K0 speedo/tach. It's going to go on my K8. Yes it might be innaccurate but it will look super sweet. The tach is jammed for some reason so I need to remove it from the face plate. Sounds easy enough. I search and read about the 2 spoons method and expected to pop that needle right off after painstakingly un-crimping the ring. So the question is: is there any reason to belive these needles are not pressed on? I applied a great ammount of force and only managed to slightly warp the center/circle part of the needle. So I stopped. I know this is technically an "other bikes" question, but I thought I might get a quicker reply here and I need to get this thing apart its going to drive me crazy...thanks for any insight

After more searching...I figure I'm just going find something to protect the face-plate then force that needle off...if it bends, I will find a replacement...I'm sure there's no magic way
