Exhaust Issues-- What to Do??
« on: May 29, 2010, 08:21:10 AM »
The PO knucklehead of my 75 750k removed and chucked all four exhaust diffusers; said he liked the noise. Well, I don't. All four pipes also have a few rust throughs, some "repaired" with silver solder, the easy ones to get to with the pipes on the bike.

So I'm wondering about those diffusers. Is not having them cause any performance issues or potential damage (other than my hearing)? Is silver solder the way to go for repair of smaller holes? I need to either get these pipes fixed or break down and buy a new set, and as you all know, that's an expensive route to go. I want to keep it stock 4 x 4. The bike is in good shape otherwise. I plan on keeping it. But even the silver solder repairs will look a bit taddy.  Any advice?

I run with them out.. not sure I could stand the quiet with them in..

Pretty sure you get better mileage with them out..
