Petcock drips gas in stop position, WHY?

My petcock will drip gasoline from one of the valves when its in the stop position and I cant seem to figure out why or how to fix it. Please any insight?

needs a new O-ring gasket its like a 5$ part from honda depending on the year!

There are at least four different fuel valve designs on the SOHC4.
How's that for insight?

This post refers to the problem I discovered: that the sealing washers on the screws that hold the petcock on were bad.  Initially I had purchased a petcock seal, and was puzzled when the dripping didn't stop.  Don't buy just any rubber washer for those mounting screws.  I learned the hard way that gas will eat through your standard hardware store washers, so I sprung for Honda washers at nearly $5 each!
