Wiring Help
« on: May 27, 2010, 06:34:26 PM »
Can someone direct me to a step by step post of wiring up a cb550f if there is one? I am having a hell of a time figuring this out. I might as well be blind when it comes to wiring diagrams. I checked out SohRon's pics, but that mostly just helped with the routing, not the actual wiring. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't wired up a whole bike so I can't help much, but I wonder if you have this simplified wiring diagrams?  See attached file.

If you are just trying to reconnect a stock wiring harness, Honda had a color code. In general:

Solid green wires are ground, and anywhere you have 2 solid green wires that mate up, do so.
Green wires with a tracer, or stripe, are a switched ground, like the oil pressure switch.
Solid black wires are +12V from the ignition switch.
Brown wires are used for lights.
Again, match like colored wires, including the tracers.
Hope this helps.
